All of our animals are pasture raised, grass fed and finished slowly to insure that our meat is the right tenderness and consistency. We do not over grain them, we supplement with the right amount of grain over time for the most natural growth. This produces good muscle structure which produces an excellent meat. Meat that is pushed too fast has a stringy texture. We are a cruelty-free, sustainable agricultural facility. The domestic water buffalo takes longer than the domestic cattle to mature though they can have higher birth weights.

What is the difference between a Water Buffalo and a Buffalo or Bison?

The Scientific name for Water Buffalo is Bubalus bubalus, though both the Water Buffalo and the Bison belong to the scientific family of Bovidae, only the Water Buffalo is truly a buffalo. The American Buffalo is not really a buffalo it is a bison with the scientific name B. Bison.

What is the difference between Water Buffalo, American Bison and Beef in terms of fat, calories, cholesterol and protein levels?
Water buffalo has a higher protein content, less cholesterol and reduced fat.

Our water buffalo are raised on family farm conditions. We use good husbandry techniques with ample room for all of our animals to enjoy a good quality of life while on the farm.

We offer an all natural product marketed on its own merit; produced to a standard.  The standard is based on sparing no expense to take the time to produce a quality product with healthy aspects for our health conscious consumers.

Water Buffalo is a tastier and more lean meat than beef. It
contains lower saturated fat than beef or pork providing a healthy alternative to beef with good dietary value.

With our specialty meats, like with our Pelican Ranch Natural Beef, we recognize the overuse of Antibiotics and realized that we can make a difference by eliminating the use of antibiotics on our farm. 

All animals, like humans have hormones which occur naturally in their bodies.  What is not natural is growth hormones. We do not add growth hormones to our feeds.

All of our meat is flash frozen within seconds and vacuum packed to lock in freshness.
