TPR Natural Meat Products Featured:

Our customers expect the most natural, freshest and safest meats for healthier eating choices and our cattle deserve the best care.

All of our animals are pasture raised and finished slowly to insure that our meat is the right tenderness and consistency. We do not over grain them, we supplement with the right amount of grain over time for the most natural growth. This produces good muscle structure which produces an excellent meat. Meat that is pushed to fast has a stringy texture. We are a cruelty-free, sustainable agricultural facility.

It takes a considerably longer amount of time to finish our beef; unlike the local feedlot animals. We take 13 months for our animals to mature.  This also insures just the right amount of fat layering around the meat and maintains tenderness; during the last 3 months we add corn to their diet which allows for a subtle and delicious marbling of the meat.

Dry aging beef involves considerable expense as the beef must hang in the freezer in the processing facility at near freezing temperatures for 21 days. We dry age our beef for exactly 21 days to concentrate the flavor and tenderize the meat at USDA Certified Processing Facility. Only the higher grades of meat can be dry aged, because the process requires meat with a large, evenly distributed fat content. The desired fat layer is 3/8 of an inch - not 1/4" and not 1/2". Too much fat creates too strong of a flavor and too little fat allows the meat to dry out.

Like the finest restaurants we offer only USDA Prime dry-aged beef. Our meats are Quick Frozen and vacuum packed for a fresh beef steak flavor not matter whether you eat them the first day or up to three years later with no freezer burn. Optimal time to enjoy our meat cuts would be in the first year but at least you know you no longer have to worry when you find a steak at the bottom of your freezer. Pelican Ranch steaks and other beef cuts are so delicious that chances are you they won't stay in your freezer long enough to get lost at the bottom!

Like any good consumer, you want to know where our all natural beef comes from, right?

Our Angus cattle are humanely raised on pasture and fed hay grown on our family farm in the rural community of Fremont, located in West Michigan. We are proud that we use good husbandry techniques and have ample room for all of our animals to enjoy a good quality of life.

We offer an all natural meat product marketed on its own merit; produced to a standard.  The standard is based on sparing no expense to take the time to produce a quality product with healthy aspects for our health conscious consumers. Our cattle are fed grasses for a more lean meat and then during the last 3 months we add corn and grains to their diet to get just the right amount of marbling to the beef.

Pelican Ranch Meats are USDA inspected. Owner Andy Cummings also personally inspects every animal before it is shipped for processing at Byron Center Meats. He then visits the processing location during the dry aging process and looks over all of the meat while it is being dry-aged to make sure only meats with just the right amount of a fat layer make it to your table. View our Meat Cuts & Prices Page to see the cuts of beef and meats we offer or visit our online Farm Market Store.

Fresh Meats, Safe, Tender, Delicious

With our natural beef products we recognize the overuse of antibiotics and realized that we can make a difference by eliminating the use of antibiotics on our farm.

All animals, like humans have hormones which occur naturally in their bodies.  What is not natural is the use growth hormones. We do not add growth hormones to our feeds. We do not inject our animals with any chemicals. We do not use pesticides on our fields or pastures.

All of our meat is quick frozen once the dry-aging process is complete and then it is vacuum packed to lock in freshness. The process of fast freezing the meat seals in the flavors of the beef at exactly the right time: on the 21st day. The meat will stay as fresh as the day it was vacuum packed for up to 3 years.
